Sure, it’s only one game. And here I am again, breaking my own ‘game recap’ rule. I might have to put a moratorium on that one during September playoff pushes. Anyway, putting up 11 runs in a game started by one of the best pitchers in the NL? That’s good. Having Luis Gonzalez (i.e., the “old and busted”) contribute as well, with 3 runs? That’s bad – if only because it might prompt Griddle to play him more often. Having the frogurt come with a free topping? That’s good. Knowing the topping contains Potassium Benzoate? …. (that’s bad.)
My point, folks, is that we have hit 88 mph, we have attained 1.21 jigowatts.. and the future is now.
Russell Martin: 2-2, 2 R, 2 RBI, 1 BB
James Loney: 2-4, 1 R, 3 RBI, 1 BB
Andy LaRoche: 1-5, 1 R, 2 RBI
Andre Ethier: 2-5, 1 R
Not to mention, yesterday’s 7 shutout innings by Chad Billingsley. We’ve been hearing about all of these guys for so long.. it sure is nice to see them up and contributing – if not, in many cases, outright being responsible for – Dodger victories.
3 games out of the Wild Card. 4 out of the NL West lead.
