Brewers @ Dodgers May 30, 2012: Gallardo vs. Kershaw

It’s been a long, long day. But hey, at least we can dream about Frank McCourt going to prison, right? (He won’t, of course, but seriously, seeing that the firm which represented him in bankruptcy last year went bankrupt themselves today is just delicious. It’s like everything the man touches turns to garbage.)

As for tonight’s lineup, we’ve been wondering what Don Mattingly might do with the top of an order that didn’t have Dee Gordon, Tony Gwynn, or Mark Ellis included, and we’re seeing yet another permutation: Elian Herrera leading off for the second time this year, and James Loney hitting second for the first time. (He did so 15 times in 2011.) I don’t entirely mind the idea against a righty, though seeing Adam Kennedy once again hitting above A.J. Ellis is frustrating. What would be so bad with putting Herrera at third every now & then and letting Ivan De Jesus (with at least one hit in each of his three starts) play second?
