Dodgers Lose Yeah Whatever Over It

I like this photo of tonight’s game, from jackace, because I can’t tell what Dodger it is. Good. They don’t deserve names.

I don’t want to recap tonight’s game. I really, really don’t. So I’ll say this: yes, Joe Blanton is crappy, and no, it doesn’t make the tiniest bit of difference if the offense can’t touch Barry F’ing Zito, who threw 6.1 scoreless innings while allowing just four hits. Would it really have mattered if it was Clayton Kershaw who lost 1-0 instead of Blanton losing 4-0? Of course not.

I have to be honest, this game was so unwatchable that even though I had it on throughout, I’d largely zoned out by the 7th inning, when I looked up and was shocked to see that the Dodgers had somehow brought the tying run to the plate by loading the bases for Shane Victorino – after twice-DFA’d Bobby Abreu had, shockingly, looked terrible in striking out. (Okay, that, and I was focusing on going completely overboard by writing 1160 words about A.J. Ellis tomorrow. He reached three times tonight. A.J. Ellis is awesome.)

If there was a chance for this game, it was then. If there was a chance for Victorino to redeem what’s left of his reputation among Dodger fans, it was then. But no: Victorino flied out weakly to left, which is basically all you’d expect from him, and you’d have missed absolutely nothing had you turned the game off right then and there, which I know many did. (Other than the debut of Steven “Paco” Rodriguez, which was pretty fun, even if it did only last for three pitches.)

I’m not entirely sure why the scheduling gods built in days off before and after this series, but thankfully, mercifully, they did. I’m just not sure I can take another game right now.

Holy crap, Mike Trout has 10.0 bWAR already.

I'm happy the Angels are back in contention, if only because he'll get his MVP.

So there are reports that the giants will move on from Brian Wilson. WHat happens when Ned signs him? Will this cause the world to explode worse than Victorino being a Dodger?

@EephusBlue I loathe Wilson with every fiber of my being, but the signing would be worth it just for the reaction in the Bay Area.

@EephusBlue absolutely not. I simply refuse to support him in any way. Dictorino is one thing, but i'll never ever root for that moron.

@JohnM Agreed. Anyone from that 2010 relief corps can go fuck themselves. I thought Wilson was bad but Romo is turning out to be equal to his douchieness. Do you think giants fans look at our relief crew with the same disdain? Does Kenley overcelebrate? I'd say no but im biased

They look at the Dodger bullpen like Juan Uribe looks at a buffet.

I lost in the semifinal round of fantasy baseball playoffs by 7 points today because Kershaw got scratched... Please feel my pain... :'(

I have a current Dodger cap, 1933 Brooklyn white cap with a few stripes, artsy white cap with old english lettering and i'm looking at a 1912 Pinstriped hat as well.

This store near me has the blue "B" cap for $28, what do you cochitos think about buying it? I didn't really want it since it's the most "burned out" retro cap.

I have this class that I've been relatively unprepared for because its syllabus sucks balls and is incredibly vague. And it says this week there's an assignment -- which it turns out is going to be rather difficult. So I've spent all night stressing out about this thinking I was going to pull an all nighter to pull something out of my ass for it. I've been working on it for four hours and it turns out that it's only being talked about this week and isn't due for another two weeks.

@Cadtalfryn Well, take heart: all of that crap is utterly meaningless in the end.

@DodgersKingsoftheGalaxy  @Cadtalfryn  @Guitar Many attorneys are poor and in fact more steeped in debt (loans from undergrad and grad, plus trying to keep up with the Joneses, they buy expensive cars, clothing, overreach on property etc.).  Anyway, good luck to you and do your best not to be one of the many douches in the field.  :)

@Cadtalfryn  @Guitar Fine by me, as long as it isn't Yankees/Giants. That wouldl be excruciatingly unbearable.

@LA Woman  @Guitar I only listened for an inning and for whatever reason I don't really care that they lost. I guess I just expected it maybe. Or that I already knew the A's won and Rangers lost and I've sort of given up on the Dodgers. It's gonna be MONEYBALLTOBER.

@Cadtalfryn  @Guitar Ah, I get it. So "this shit" will probably get explained this week. Oh, well, You weren't obsessing about this other Dodger shit.

@Guitar Well this is law school so what I'm learning is actually useful for my future. I'm going to have to write memos and evaluate a client's situation and check case law to see if they have a cause for action or not.

@Cadtalfryn I'm writing this as someone who had a great GPA then realized almost instantly when I graduated that absolutely no one.... no one... gave a fuck.

I have been away from the computer for a few hours, so I do not know if this got reported here...

The Isotopes were eliminated from the playoffs by a 16-7 loss to Omaha

Elian Herrera and Jerry Sands  have been playing well and could be considered now to be brought up - if it would make any difference. The pitchers have not been very effective, but only Fife is on the 40 man roster. TGJ has been effective recently and might be useful with Matt Kemp aching, but he is not on the 40 man roster

LordFappington

@KirkDavenport wth is Sands still doing here?

@DodgersKingsoftheGalaxy he was not able to be placed  on waivers at the time of the trade, so he would have had to wait till the end of the season and then become a PTBNL. He should still be eligible to play for the LA team and actually, Chris Jackson says Jerry only heard rumors about being traded and has not be told he will be going.
