Zack Greinke. Los Angeles Dodger. (It’s Done!)

Updating tonight’s earlier news… pending a physical, Zack Greinke is a Los Angeles Dodger.

Just think on that for a minute, won’t you? Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke. Two great tastes that taste great together.

Gina Miller reports that the deal is 6/$147m, which is wonderful. Eric Stephen adds that the $24.5 average annual value is the highest ever by a pitcher, which comes as no surprise. To be honest, I’m surprised he didn’t break $150m, so I’m not sure how any Dodger fan could be anything but thrilled.

We know A.J. Ellis is, anyway:

More to come when I’m not in the middle of a holiday party. Celebrate!

Who cares about Shields? Go for David Price!

Now we just need to eat David Wright's money, and it'll be another Baseball Mogul story.

@LA Woman That sounds excellent to me, and especially considering who we could have signed for 6/36. That's basically Capuano/Harang money for a player with a higher ceiling.

@LA Woman Basically a steal in the current market.

@ThtsaPaddlin Yep. And Borass wanted 2 or 3 years so he would come up for FA sooner. (There's also something about an opt-out, which I hope @Mike Petriello will explain.)

so getting demoted to AA or the bullpen is bad for Ryu. @capnsparrow @LA Woman @ThtsaPaddlin @Mike Petriello

6/42? Seems like a lot of years.

@DBrim I believe - but am not 100% certain - imports like this are not subject to same free agency rules. So if you sign him for 2 years, he's gone in 2 years.

@Mike Petriello @DBrim bingo. Worst case, they option him to AA if he struggles or if EVERYONE is healthy and a trade needs to happen

@Mike Petriello Less AAV than League, I guess.

@Mike Petriello Doesnt matter after this year, especially if trading him.

So of the 3 expendable SPs we have I think we're keeping Harang or Lilly. Cappy gonna be the most valuable of the 3. Lilly the most likely stayin put. My opinion.

LOL, you guys, at a time in which starting pitching is as expensive a commodity as it has ever been....we have it fucking all.

As we wait to find out Ryu's deal, we know the $25.73m posting fee is official. Puts 2013 outlay (w/ dead $) to $263.59m http://t.co/kNh9Vo94
