I don’t really want to talk about last night’s loss any more than you do — I will add that while Josh Beckett certainly wasn’t great, it’s absurd that Pablo Sandoval even swung at that ball, nor would Sandoval have even been up in that situation had Skip Schumaker not booted a ball at second base, and the offense certainly didn’t do anything to help matters — so we won’t, for now.
Instead, we’ll take advantage of an early morning on an early day off to announce the winner of the Opening Day roster contest. We had 167 entries with some hilarious answers, and it eventually came down to three-way tie for first place, among a trio who had all answered 12 of the 13 spots correctly, each missing only on Chad Billingsley.
The three-way tie sent it to a tiebreaker of guessing the Opening Day attendance at Dodger Stadium, and so the winner ends up being Brian M., of Mountain View, CA. Congrats, Brian — your hat is (okay, it’s not yet, but soon) in the mail.
Thanks all for participating; we’ll do it again some time.
