NLCS Game 4: So Long, Ricky

Up to around 2,000 comments, so let’s fire up a new one. Ricky Nolasco was fine… until he wasn’t. Kudos to Don Mattingly for lifting him after four, but less so for using Skip Schumaker in any situation with meaning. Hanley Ramirez doesn’t really look all that great, and I’m not just talking about his 0-3 with three whiffs performance; honestly, I doubt he’s playing tomorrow.

Through five, the Dodgers trail 3-2.

Mattingly should have let Nolasco bat and sacrifice the runners to 2nd and 3rd, with Crawford coming up.  But instead, Schumaker hits into DP, and Crawford leads off the 5th with a single.  Two runs lost.

If the Cards win the series, I think we know who the MVP is: effing Joe Kelly for knocking out Hanley -- Goddamn Kelly -- Hanley is/was absolutely key to our offensive success.  It pisses me off that we'll never know what would have happened if teh same Hanley who dominated the Atlants series was allowed to play in the NLCS -- PHOOEY ( and Go Dodgers!)

@Bill Grabarkewitz @MScottEiland True, but at least we'll have a shot.  They've only been shut out once, so winning 1-0 or 2-1 is still in play, even with the crap offense.  HR did nothing today, so they can score without him, even if it is only two runs.
